A large roofed deck on the western side is designed to protect the open living areas from low angle sun. A difficult and challenging site with most of the open space facing the street

The open plan living area has been approximately doubled in size. A modulating and articulated front elevation forms a sheltered entry court near the front door, and a number of small internal recesses for furnishing.

A challenging site with a considerable slope and long curved frontage led to this solution. Large living areas face north and northwest, with added bedrooms and a large garage on a lower level.
