BRENT PLACE, GARRAN ACT

Some major changes to an older home to bring it into line with the Adaptable Housing Code and give more living and garage areas. Construction underway.

WARNER PLACE, HOLDER ACT

An interesting internal re-programming of an existing house we worked on 27 years ago. We are relocating the study (which is a major part of the house) to make it contigous with the living areas. The first stage is complete and we are about to embark on some facade changes and external works.

TYSON STREET, AINSLIE ACT

A charming but tiny workers cottage in Canberra's inner north has been beautifully restored. We were engaged to design a separate but linked extension to give much needed living and bedroom space.

WHITHAM PLACE, PEARCE ACT

We were initially requested to look at internal changes in this residence but the ceiling heights and other factors made it impractical. Instead there was just enough room behind the front setback to construct two extra rooms. Now handed over.

WAKELIN CIRCUIT, WESTON ACT

Still in the early design concept stage, this is a proposal to extend an existing house to give more space in the living area at the rear. We are also bringing sunlight into the back of the house, which is on the southen side.

MARA PLACE, WARAMANGA ACT

In this project we aimed to insert a hydrotherapy pool into a tight keystone block in Weston. An existing carport was also converted and a new guest room added

SIMSON PLACE, KAMBAH ACT

A project to revitalise an ex govie in Kambah.

DELPRAT PLACE, MONASH ACT

A sun-filled conservatory on a unit titled property in South Canberra. Completed in 2019.

CHIRNSIDE CIRCUIT, KAMBAH ACT

Renovations were long overdue for this original Kambah residence, and we took the opportunity to increase the size of the kitchen and bathroom under the eaves. Completed in early 2019.

PRIDHAM STREET FARRER ACT

A wonderful example of Sydney School architecture by a local architect, this 50 year old home needed more living space and some sun control measures.

MT LIVINGSTONE ROAD, MICHAELAGO NSW

We worked within an existing large rural property to infil the subfloor area, making more living space available to our clientsyoung family.

DESAILLY STREET, KAMBAH ACT

A major revamp of the living areas and three of the bedrooms of this home to accommodate some growing children.

Completed in late 2018.

WHEATLEY STREET GOWRIE ACT

A whole series of internal changes in a much loved home. We didn't do anything much externally - just reprogrammed the internal spaces to give an extra bedroom/guest room, changed the bedrooms around, forming a study nook and tinkered with the main living area and kitchen.

SOMERVILLE ROAD, HORNSBY HEIGHTS NSW

A large and much loved home in the northern suburbs of Sydney that we are transforming into two separate areas for a two generation family home. The DA has been approved and we are working with the engineer to produce construction documentation. It's proceeding slowly.

QUEEN STREET, MURWILLUMBAH NSW

A really nice house, but it was getting very little sun in the winter and didn't really connect with its spectacular site. We are doing lots of little interventions to mould it closer to the heart's desire

DALE CIRCUIT, KAMBAHACT

We are totally reprogramming this house to make it face north and address the rear gardens. Documention is now complete, integrating the structural engineer's details and using the Glazing Calculator to establish the required window type.

JUDD PLACE, LYONS ACT

This is one of three quick freehand sketches we developed of possible options to give the spaces and "feel" that our client was looking for. The present house does not make use of the northern sun and views (including to Black Mountain) available from the block.

JUWIN STREET ARANDA ACT

A bushland setting and lots of stonework. Designed, approved and documented in 2018 and constructed gradually over the following years.

GALLAGHER STREET, KAMBAH ACT

An alfresco area and new master bedroom added to the rear of an existing home.

BLACKWOOD TERRACE HOLDER, ACT

An amazing house in suburban Weston Creek. We were involved in replacing the car accommodation with a new teenager's retreat, as well as reorienting the kitchen and informal living areas to face the sun and the rear garden.

BRAZEL STREET, HIGGINS ACT

A small block with a requirement for a separate parents' area.

LAMBRIGG STREET FARRER

This is the second extension we have designed for this house, this time adding a sunny living room opening onto the adjacent public open space. Building work was completed in late 2014.

GALIBAL STREET, WARAMANGA ACT

On a strangely sited house in Weston Creek we developed a second storey extension as well as a reprogramming of the existing internal spaces to get sun and light into the living areas.

HUDDART AVENUE, NORMANHURST NSW

Transformation on a budget. We checked all the options, including a knock down rebuild.

LIPMAN STREET, DUFFY ACT

We designed an addition comprising a large garage and a granny flat on this project.

CORDEAUX STREET, DUFFY ACT

A small wedge shaped block and a growing family with lots of camping and outdoor equipment to store. This is one of our early solutions as we worked with them to develop a design. Completed early 2016

WAKELIN CIRCUIT, WESTON ACT

This house was much loved by its owner but needed more space and sunlight. By moving the kitchen, enclosing a north facing porch and using the area under the eaves we managed to form a large sunny sunroom/living area without extending the roof line. We also relocated the front door to a better position.

CRAFER PLACE , KAMBAH ACT

The first stage of a major renovation of this aging house in north Kambah. The existing roof was being replaced and the living areas enlarged, and in time a second storey with two new bedrooms will be added.

BYNOE PLACE, PAGE ACT

An extension on a tricky corner block to give more bedroom and living space, as well as change the image of the house to a more contemporary feel. Construction competed mid 2013.

HUTCHESON STREET, MONASH ACT

This home needed to be modified to cater for a growing number of grandchildren who spend time there. Sleeping areas, living areas and the rear garden all were redesigned with this in mind. And a couple of quieter areas for the grandparents to retreat to.

DAWSON STREET, CURTIN ACT

This family home needed more sun, more storage and more living area.

COLEBATCH PLACE, CURTIN ACT

This beautiful old home in Curtin was saved from a "knock-down rebuild" and made into a sun-filled enjoyable home for a retired couple. It was designed to comform with the Adaptable Housing Code.

JAMIESON CRES, KAMBAH ACT

Set on an interesting and odd shaped block, this house required more space and natural light in the main living areas. The new design provides a new family room, deck, bedrooms and ensuite. Construction was completed in 2012.

LENNOX STREET, RICHMOND VIC

We worked on alterations and additions to a small inner city house to provide an extra bedroom and wet areas, as well as opening up the ceilings of the living spaces to allow sunlight and air into the house.

BUSBY STREET, O'CONNOR ACT

A heritage "Tocumwal" in need of renovation and extending. The heritage listing meant that the front part of the house was basically untouched, with a large extension added to the rear.

ALLAN ST, CURTIN ACT

A large extension which remodeled the existing home to provide an open plan living area including kitchen, deck, master bedroom and ensuite.

McCORMACK ST, CURTIN ACT

Our client required a larger garage wtih extra storage and and workshop facilities. Other alterations and an entertaining deck and pergola were also added.

SOUTHWELL ST, WEETANGERA ACT

A total redesign of the living areas of this house, with a new north facing living area designed for maximum solar gain, reconfigured internal spaces for a more open contemporary lifestyle and large outdoor spaces on the north and south that integrate with the living spaces of the house.

MILLEN ST, HUGHES ACT

An extension to an existing Californian bungalow with remodelled kitchen, dining areas and a new living area to the rear of the house. We also added extensive decks.

GOUGER STREET, TORRENS ACT

An extension to an existing house. We had already done a total upgrade of the entrance including gardens, courtyard walls, new steps and entry roof structure. Internal renovations to some of the wet areas were then undertaken, along with rendering and a large rear deck around the swimming pool.

BUVELOT STREET, WESTON ACT

A rear extension to include a courtyard, master bedroom, ensuite, family room and entertaining deck. This house now recieves plenty of natural light from the feature highlight windows.

INKSTER ST, KAMBAH ACT

A first level extension, owner built and featuring a 6.5m vaulted ceiling and a music gallery cantilevered over the living area.

PRIDHAM ST, FARRER ACT

A split level addition to increase the formal living area and to accommodate a professional musician's teaching studio.

PUDNEY STREET, FARRER ACT

Renovations to an existing house, with large north facing living areas facing the northern pool area and a new guest room and ensuite on the lower floor. We also gave the front of the house a more contemporary look, with a large roofed outdoor entertaining area and a covered entry area.

GILLIES STREET CURTIN

A new children's wing with new bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor, opening onto a double volume play and work space.

MARCONI CRESCENT, KAMBAH ACT

A tiny townhouse transformed into a three bedroom home for a young growing family.

LITTLE BURRA HOUSE, NSW

Extensions to an existing country residence high on the ridge above the Burra Valley, with spectacular views to the north and northwest. The young family who own it needed extra living and bedroom space, and undercover attached garage accommodation for cars. Our solution retains the integrity of the original design while adding a feeling of light, airy spaciousness.

BOLALI PLACE WARAMANGA ACT

A large extension on a difficult sloping block adds formal and informal living areas to a young family's home.

HARDY PLACE, KAMBAH ACT

A two storey extension squeezed onto a small block hard up against a cycleway and public open space.

MAYNE STREET, CHIFLEY ACT

A series of extensions to a family home that gave more living areas in three places, while changing the entire appearance and character of the house to give it a more contemporary look. Completed 2010.

STUDLEY STREET, KAMBAH ACT

A large family room extension, entertaining areas, additional storage and remodelled kitchen and laundry was required for our client's growing family.

ETNAM STREET, PRESTON VIC

This heritage listed house in an inner northern Melbourne suburb needed extensive revamping to make it a family home for a young owner builder and his family. Completed mid 2015.

MEHAFFY CRESCENT, THEODORE ACT

Enlarged north facing living areas, a covered deck and a new master bedroom and ensuite were designed to give this existing home more amenity for a young family.

FRED LANE CRESCENT, GORDON ACT

Completed in mid 2011, this interesting extension was an "infill" between the existing house and garage which were on slightly different levels. Clerestorey windows bring northern light into the main living area and large windows and doors open them to the private garden at the rear.

FULLWOOD STREET, WESTON ACT

This extension provided much needed extra living space for a young family, and dealt with a tricky sloping block that slopes towards the west on an elevated block in Weston. The views are spectacular but the afternoon sun in summer is a real problem.

EADY STREET DICKSON ACT

Some modifications and alterations to an older house in Dickson to make it more comfortable and environmentally friendly. A carport shades the exposed western side, new windows are double glazed, water tanks and PV cells were installed and the kitchen, laundry and entrance modified.

MUGGA WAY, RED HILL ACT

An extension to an existing large residence to allow two generations of a family to live in it. Completed in 2013.

CALEY CRESCENT, NARRABUNDAH ACT

An intricate extension to an inner city home to create more space and amenity on a restricted site.

GSELL PLACE, MONASH ACT

Our clients wanted a sunny conservatory that served as an entry to the house and provided storage and informal living functions.

WAGGA STREET, FARRER ACT

Our challenge here is to turn the orientation of an existing very special house so that it got more solar access and related better to the garage and entry of its battleaxe block. We proposed a double volume space with clerestorey windows to provide sunlight into the back area of the house, together with a new informal living area facing north.

GREVILLEA STREET, O'CONNOR ACT

Conversion of an existing house to give disabled access for our client. Finished in 2015.

SEAVER STREET, MONASH ACT

Early design studies for a two storey extension to a house in Monash. It was already a large house but some tweaks and changes would give it more light and capture the northern views, as well as rationalising the living spaces and making them more usable.

WAKELIN STREET, WESTON ACT

This home had a small kitchen but quite a large living/dining area and a sunroom that wasn't being used to its maximum. We reprogrammed the house to get a better balance.

KANOOKA STREET, RIVETT ACT

ACTEW easements to contend with and a tight battleaxe site.

SPENSLEY PLACE, WANNIASSA ACT

We are gradually reprogramming an existing house to make it more solar friendly and increase its amenity, without really adding to it or changing its basic nature. This project will be ongoing for some time.

INKSTER STREET SUNROOM, KAMBAH ACT

A sunroom squeezed behind the front setback gives northern and eastern sun in a new living area for this home. It will serve as a semi-attached studio space with separate street access.

MILLER STREET, O'CONNOR ACT

An extension to a classic Tocumwal which we designed to provide bigger living areas, a studio, remodelled bedrooms and wet areas and a new garage.

WILLIAM HUDSON CRESCENT, MONASH ACT

An extended outdoor covered entertaining area with glorious views to the Brindabella mountains.

TYTHERLEIGH STREET , WANNIASSA ACT

This home needed "turning around" to face the views and sun, as well as more space and amenity for the three generations living in it. Completed in late 2016.

MATHER STREET, WESTON ACT

First floor addition and some internal changes to a much loved but "spatially challenged" house in Weston Creek.

IVO WHITTON CRESCENT, GLENEAGLES ACT

Our client purchased this house at auction, and there were a few immediate things to change. They have long term plans as well.

HUTCHISON CRESCENT KAMBAH ACT

This a beautiful 1970s home inspired by Austrian and Swiss alpine vernacular arcitecture that was built in the 1970s. We are working with the owner to do a series of upgrades and maintenance items.
