The
house is sited awkwardly on the block, making any extensions problematic.
We concentrated on reprogramming the existing areas. |
Our
first design studies kept the living areas to the front of the house
near the entry and took advantage of the views over the adjacent park
|
|
|
We
then reversed the house and put the living areas to the north for
solar access and proximity to the rear garden |
The
northern part of the house is now opened up to the rear garden and
the sun. |
|
|
The
large sunny northern living space now has a 3.6 metre ceiling height. |
A
large and high pergola protects the south western glazing from the
low angle sun in summer. |
