A 3D CAD initial design The front of the house as it was originally.
Plan of the existing house. The new design. The kitchen has been moved back and the enlarged front porch area used to form a sunny living area.
The cantilevered living areas required us to use lightweight construction which has been continued to other parts of the elevations to tie the materials in with the existing house. The original kitchen was in good condition so we simply moved it back.

A happy client The sunroom takes shape
The windows are in and it's ready for cladding (if only we could get some fine weather). Cladding and a front door
Plasterboard lining and fixout done, and notice the air conditioner installed (just as the hot weather finished) The front door completed.
Aluminium louvres allow winter sun right into the back of the main living area and lighten up the kitchen and dining room Plasterboard lining and fixout done, and notice the air conditioner installed (just as the hot weather finished)
A gallery of paintings gives a focus to the new living spaces. And a window seat to take advantage of the morning sun and garden views.

This house was much loved by its owner but needed more space and sunlight. By moving the kitchen, enclosing a north facing porch and using the area under the eaves we managed to form a large sunny sunroom/living area without extending the roof line. We also relocated the front door to a better position.
