Initial sketch plans of a new residence on the site of a 1960s house in Canberra's inner south. The site was fairly steeply sloping and dominated by a large mature tree. The initial concept responded to the problem by using lightweight construction suspended over the tree protection zone and facing the living areas to the north around the tree's dominating bulk
